Why I Just Blocked Ken

Comments

There have been numerous complaints, but Six Apart don't want to know about it. I suppose banning doesn't achieve anything, as he can just create a new account and continue his annoying trolling. He already has at least one other account, so be on the lookout for a visit from "Patrick". "Patrick" only had to make one comment which was devoid of caps, grammar and logic and it was obvious who "Patrick" was. Sad, really...
I'll keep my eye out for this Patrick alias. Thanks for the warning.

If Six Apart is not interested in upholding its TOS, at least, where issues, such as, the ones I pointed out and copied from the service's TOS page are concerned, then there is always another way to deal with a naughty troll.
Ken is more than a few bricks shy of a load and there's no reasoning with him. He's so bad that even a few of his fellow conservatives have blocked him as well.
I'm just wondering how he goes through life hating everything and everyone. He's a truly sad individual.
[this is good]

Here's the Patrick for your blocking pleasure (complete with a racist post, although I think he mainly began the blog because "ken" was blocked. Patrick did in fact leave a rude comment on my blog after I blocked his first entity).

Good points about the terms of service. I am in fact in favor of free speech, in other words I'd hate to have Vox immediately kick off everyone who said offensive things, but they should certainly recieve warnings and be dismissed if they don't heed them. Not sure what's up with Sixapart these days.

Six Apart is fuxored. We could complain about Ken and all the other nasty assholes on Vox forever and nothing would get done. Never mind that he has repeatedly broken rules...

At least one person I talked to about this has told me that when they asked Six Apart about it they said it was a "freedom of speech issue".

In one sense, I agree with Emmi-I am in favour of free speech but Ken(and Batshit Jewess and Jethro Bodine) have all broken rules. We have the right to talk about certain things(gay marriage as an example) on our blogs without being spammed by these assholes.(after they spam us we block them) :P
Thanks to all of you for the responses. There was a time when I would have amused myself at his expense while wearing him down to the point where he avoided me at all cost, provided I had the time and was in the mood for it. I'm just not up for playing Whack The Troll anymore. I have not been since the now-defunct modblog community's heyday.
I had a brief pop at ken on my blog for about a week before I got bored with him, as a troll he leaves a lot to be desired. His inane arguments don't warrant a reply most of the time, which is a shame, I like baiting trolls.
Some trolls are more fun to play with, than others. I enjoyed baiting a few modblog trolls. Like the guy that called himself BlingKing. He insisted on using male pronouns when referring to me. I had reminded him twice that I'm female. By the third time, I warned him, "If you bend my gender one more time then I shall forever refer to you as Bling Queen." That did the trick.

Ah, this reminds me! I believe, BlingKing was the only other blogger that I banned from my blog. It's all coming back to me.
I don't remember him at all, but I suppose other than his trollism the vacuousness of his blog would leave nothing to remember him by.
I miss the old Modblog days. :(
I miss my old modblog days, too. You might not have encountered that troll. If my memory is accurate, he inherited full control of the George Bush blog and user name. So, I created a parody version George W. Bush and made it appear as if his drunken daughters were posting on their daddy's blog. It was fun for a while, but I quickly grew bored with it.
lol.. Now that's innovative troll baiting!
I thought so at first. Lots of trolls that were logged into their modblog account showed up to check it out. Few left messages for some reason. It received a bunch of comments from people that enjoyed it.

To censor because you do not like certain ideas or to complain because someone actually reads your blog and comments is without merit. Personally, I encourage readers that disagree with my views as a way to continue the learning process. It is the Sean Hannity and Michael Moore types that I want to converse with most. Your solution is easy..only allow those you choose to see or comment or your posts.

I hope Lil Treva doesn't mind if I speak up, but...really, Lightfoot Letters? You think harassment, obscenities, petty bullying is the what you call "not liking certain ideas"? This is what ken wrote on Treva's blog:

i've worked would have killed a little whine butt like you,the way you talk, the way you sound tells me that you would have been that little girl who always had to have someone else finnish her work.and the way you put your little story leads me to believe that your full of what makes the grass grow green.just another silly little whine butt!!!!!!! spewing her self pity for the world to hear...

Are you seriously going to tell me that's simple disagreement? It's rude and harassing. And ken, if allowed to continue, in the past has spewed obscenities and accused people of molesting children.

Don't even try to tell me anyone should make their blog entirely private because "ken" supposedly has some God-given right to harass someone who's discussing their medical issues. He violated Vox Terms of Service.

Sorry, Treva, if you would rather have responded first, feel free to delete my comment. But I saw this on the I Blocked Ken group and it ticked me off.

And ps Lightfoot Letters, from what I've seen you're very polite, so I'm surprised you'd stand up for ken just because he doesn't like Obama. Be careful with whom you keep company.

The comment was not a defense of a particular person. It was more about organized censorship. I personally would not belong to a group whose sole purpose was to censor another. That is just the liberal part of me. Does it come back to bite you in the butt sometimes..yes it does. The amateur porn on Vox, I would prefer be posted on a more suitable site for those who like the sexual exploitation of women. But that is just me. It is not required of you.

Note: jebuff post 'Discussion with Lightfoot'

ken HAS broken plenty of Vox's terms of service.

I actually thought about leaving Vox because of ken, and Jethro Bodine and few other people. But I refused to let them have control over me. The blocking function is there for a reason.

No offense, Lightfoot, but what ken does IS harassment.

Interesting you say that, because I haven't joined the group either. I certainly understand their anger (towards ken and also Vox who has not spoken up over harassment enough) but I try as hard as I can to keep negativity off my site.

Does it come back to bite you in the butt sometimes..yes it does.

I'm curious what that refers to, bites ken in the butt, or people who formed the group....not being sarcastic, I'm just genuinely confused.

The amateur porn on Vox, I would prefer be posted on a more suitable site for those who like the sexual exploitation of women. But that is just me. It is not required of you.

And now I'm really confused. What's up to me? How did porn show up in this conversation?

Since you brought it up, though, I'm disgusted over the porn sites on Vox. I'm shocked that Vox hasn't at least deleted those. That's one of the reasons why I'm creating groups that are private.

Hi, Lightfoot Letters,
Had Ken come here with the same argument stance, but without resorting to personal insults, which he carried over to a private message to me and, at least, one other person, then he would not have been blocked.

I have not deleted any comments posted by Ken on my blog. For that matter, I still have his instant message to me which contained a false accusation (that I allegedly blocked him) sent on Oct. 29, the day before I posted Banning Policy and three days before I actually blocked Ken and created this post to explain why I did it.

I do not expect other people to block Ken, or anybody else. I interpreted suggestions from others that I consider doing it as friendly advice.

People are well within their right to openly disagree with anybody. Nobody has a right to resort to personal attacks of any kind, or threats, or any other conduct which is intended to discourage open and free exchange of views, ideas, and other information.

As for porn, I am disappointed that Vox does not, at least, provide an alternate area for adults only for that type of material, one that is separate from ours. I certainly hope that the content is exclusively limited to willing adult humans that are not harmed in the making of that material.
"Sorry, Treva, if you would rather have responded first, feel free to delete my comment. But I saw this on the I Blocked Ken group and it ticked me off."

No need to apologize, Emmi. I don't think that I needed to be the first to respond. Just so you and others know, I rarely delete another person's comments. Just spam.

I do not think that Lightfoot Letters meant any harm. I was not upset by this person's comments. If anything, I feel that I and others were misunderstood.

Thank you. I see it's been carried to a new level on Jebuff's blog. If I didn't have a raging headache I'd have something else intellgient to say, LOL.

Keep on blogging, friend.

It's an interesting discussion at Jebuff's blog. I appreciate the level of civility and the intellectual input. Anyone serious about finding common ground and meeting the other sides on it to calmly and intelligently discuss issues, views, and ideas for solutions can make a lot more progress than those that play into the agenda for social control with the aid of bitter division.

"Keep on blogging, friend."

Thanks, friend! :D
I shall! ;)
